You’ll have two itinerary options, depending on availability and how you want to travel:
- Amanecer (Sunrise): Depart Guadalajara in the morning by train and return by bus. This option is required if you choose private transportation with Cantaritos El Güero.
- Atardecer (Sunset): Depart in the morning by bus and return to Guadalajara aboard the José Cuervo Express at sunset.

The day starts in the agave fields just outside of Tequila, Jalisco, where you’ll watch a live jima demonstration in the Campos de Agave. Then it’s time to board the Premium Plus car of the José Cuervo Express. Inside, you’ll find lounge-style seating, light appetizers, and an open bar serving José Cuervo Tradicional cocktails. A tequila expert will guide you through a three-glass tasting flight, helping you explore different expressions and flavors as you roll through the Jalisco countryside.
Once in Tequila, you’ll take a guided tour of La Rojeña®, Latin America’s oldest active tequila distillery. You’ll also visit the Juan Beckmann Gallardo Cultural Center, which offers an artful perspective on the history of tequila. Your visit wraps up with a folkloric show, live mariachi, and some free time in the town to explore or shop before heading back.
If you choose the private transportation upgrade (only available with Amanecer), we’ll meet you in Tequila after your tour and take you to Cantaritos El Güero—a lively, open-air cantina known for giant cantaritos and great music. From there, your driver will take you directly back to your hotel or Airbnb in Guadalajara. It’s a laid-back, no-stress way to end the day—and a great way to avoid the return crowd.
