Climb aboard the most famous tequila train in Mexico: the José Cuervo Express Train. This family-friendly, value-focused category is ideal for travelers who want the full José Cuervo experience—agave fields, train ride, tastings, mariachi, and culture—at a more accessible price, without sacrificing comfort or fun.
Your day starts in Guadalajara with a private chauffeur who picks you up directly from your hotel or Airbnb. We drive you to the official José Cuervo Express departure point, assist you with check-in, and make sure you’re settled in before the train boards. Enjoy a light breakfast of coffee and pan dulce while the excitement builds around you.
On board, you’ll ride in the Express wagon, where seats are arranged in pairs facing forward on each side of the aisle—comfortable, social, and perfect for families. Adults can enjoy a selection of Mexican snacks and cocktails prepared with José Cuervo® Especial Reposado and José Cuervo® Tradicional Plata and Reposado, plus a one-glass educational tequila tasting and a traditional toast with one of José Cuervo’s best tequilas. Kids and non-drinkers can focus on the scenery, music, and atmosphere as you roll through the Jalisco countryside.
After a scenic two-hour train ride, you’ll arrive in Tequila, Jalisco around late morning. From there, José Cuervo staff guide you to branded buses for your transfer to La Rojeña®, the oldest distillery in Latin America. Throughout the day you’ll enjoy a blend of free exploration time, cultural experiences, and guided activities—all wrapped up with private transportation back to your hotel in either Guadalajara or Tequila, at no extra charge within city limits.
This José Cuervo Express Train Tour is designed for guests who want everything organized—transportation, train, distillery, and cultural experiences—while keeping the overall budget thoughtful and family-friendly.
Both itineraries follow the same core José Cuervo Express Train Tour structure—transportation, distillery, culture, and town time.
The difference is simple: choose Sunrise if you want the train in the morning and an optional Cantaritos El Güero stop, or Sunset if you’d rather end your day with a golden-hour train journey back to Guadalajara.
Transportation disclaimer: TQM Tours coordinates pickups with licensed, insured local drivers; we do not operate vehicles directly.
Yes. This is one of the most family-friendly José Cuervo Express Train Tour options. Kids enjoy the train ride, live shows, jima demonstration, and exploring the town of Tequila. All tastings and alcoholic drinks are reserved for adults 18+.
Sunrise (Amanecer) includes the train ride from Guadalajara to Tequila in the morning and an optional stop at Cantaritos El Güero before returning to your hotel by private vehicle.
Sunset (Atardecer) uses a bus in the morning and finishes with the iconic golden-hour train ride back to Guadalajara, with no Cantaritos stop.
Yes. If you choose the Sunrise itinerary, stopping at Cantaritos El Güero is optional. You can go straight back to your hotel in Guadalajara or Tequila instead.
No. Private round-trip transportation is included from your hotel or Airbnb in Guadalajara, plus your return at the end of the day (or from Tequila if you’re staying there). There is no additional charge within Guadalajara or Tequila city limits.
Each José Cuervo Express segment is approximately two hours. Depending on the itinerary, you’ll either take the train in the morning (Sunrise) or in the evening (Sunset).
The José Cuervo Express Train Tour typically operates on Saturdays. Dates can sell out quickly, so advance reservations are highly recommended.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, family-friendly, and value-conscious way to experience the legendary José Cuervo Express Train Tour, this Sunrise & Sunset category is the perfect fit. You’ll enjoy Mexico’s most famous tequila train, explore a UNESCO-recognized agave region, and dive into the culture of Tequila—without worrying about logistics.
Reserve your preferred itinerary (Sunrise or Sunset), and let TQM Tours handle the rest—from private pickup to your final drop-off back at your hotel.
All sales are final once the TQM Tours team has confirmed your booking.
Please make sure your date, itinerary (Sunrise or Sunset), and guest details are correct before reserving.
Booking disclaimer: Reservations are not confirmed until a member of the TQM Tours team reviews and approves your request. We do our best to secure your chosen experience and date. If your selected departure is sold out, you’ll have the option to switch to another available José Cuervo Express category or date and either pay or receive the price difference.
Your José Cuervo Express adventure includes one of two schedules—Amanecer (Sunrise) or Atardecer (Sunset). Both options include private transportation from your hotel or Airbnb in Guadalajara, round-trip service, and the full train tour experience. The only difference? Guests on the Amanecer schedule may enjoy an optional stop at the iconic Cantaritos El Güero on the way back.
Note: Only Amanecer guests may request a stop at Cantaritos El Güero. All transportation is private, secure, and coordinated with our local partners for a smooth and comfortable experience.
