Your day starts in Guadalajara, where your private driver picks you up from your hotel or Airbnb and takes you directly to the Sunday Tequila Express departure. From there, settle in for a ~2-hour ride through sweeping blue agave fields on your way to the birthplace of tequila.

When you arrive in Tequila, your driver meets you at the station and takes you to one of the region’s top distillery areas—El Tequileño, Sauza, José Cuervo, La Cofradía, Orendain, or La Rienda—where you’ll have time to explore, take photos, shop for bottles, or relax before enjoying a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. Food is included; drinks are not, so you can order whatever you prefer. Afterward, you’ll head to the iconic Cantaritos El Güero for one of the most famous stops in Jalisco before returning to Guadalajara with your private driver. This Sunday getaway blends the charm of the Tequila Express with comfort, culture, and great food.

Detailed Itinerary

Your schedule may vary slightly depending on train timing, your selected distillery area (Arette, Fortaleza*, El Tequileño, Orendain, or La Cofradía), and how long you wish to stay at Cantaritos El Güero.

  • 8:00 AM – Hotel Pickup

    Begin your day with private transportation from your hotel or Airbnb in Guadalajara. Your bilingual driver ensures a smooth start to your Tequila Train Tour.

  • 8:45 AM – Arrival at Train Station

    Arrive at the Tequila Express station with time to check in, use the restroom, or purchase snacks or coffee before boarding.

  • 9:30 AM – Board the Tequila Express Train

    Settle into your seat for a scenic ~2-hour journey through Jalisco’s agave landscape. Food and drinks are not included but are available for purchase onboard.

  • 11:30 AM – Arrival in Tequila

    Your private driver will meet you at the station exit and take you directly into town or to the distillery area of your choice.

  • 12:00 PM – Distillery Area Visit

    Explore one of Tequila’s hallmark destinations: Arette, Fortaleza*, El Tequileño, Orendain, or La Cofradía.
    Take photos, browse the bottle shops, or enjoy the charming cobblestone streets surrounding each distillery.

  • 1:30 PM – Lunch at Local Restaurant

    Enjoy a full traditional Mexican meal. Food is included; alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase.

  • 3:00 PM – Free Time in Tequila

    Walk the plaza, visit local shops, sample artisan candies, or simply enjoy the Pueblo Mágico atmosphere.

  • 4:30 PM – Depart Tequila for Cantaritos El Güero

    Your driver takes you to the famous Cantaritos El Güero, where you can enjoy their signature oversized clay-cup cocktail.

  • 6:00 PM – Drive Back to Guadalajara
