Tequila Tour Cancellation Policy | TQM Tours Guadalajara

Last updated: March 3, 2026

At TQM Tours, we are a small local team that works directly with distilleries, drivers, and guides across Guadalajara and the Tequila Valley. Our tequila tours require advance reservations with partners including distilleries, private drivers, restaurants, and train operators.

Because these experiences are reserved in advance, cancellations must follow the policies established by our partners.

Important: Many experiences included in our tequila tours — such as distillery visits, transportation, and train tickets — are prepaid to local partners once your booking is confirmed. For this reason, some portions of your booking may become non-refundable.

General Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled tour are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the tour may qualify for a refund or credit depending on the policies of the distillery, train operator, or partner involved.
  • Once reservations are confirmed with distilleries or transportation providers, certain portions of the tour may already be prepaid and therefore non-refundable.
  • TQM Tours cannot override the cancellation policies of distilleries, train operators, or transportation providers.

Distillery Tickets

Every tequila distillery in the Tequila Valley operates under its own reservation and cancellation policy.

  • Some distilleries offer full refunds when cancelled within their allowed time window.
  • Some distilleries offer credits instead of refunds.
  • Some distilleries offer no refunds once tickets are confirmed.

If a distillery provides a refund or credit, TQM Tours will pass that refund or credit directly to the customer. We cannot override a distillery’s internal policies.

Train Tickets (José Cuervo Express & Similar Experiences)

  • Train tickets are non-refundable once issued.
  • Tickets may be rescheduled depending on availability and the policies of the train operator.
  • Rescheduling may include fees depending on how many days before the trip the change is requested.
  • Requests made less than 48 hours before the departure cannot be rescheduled based on José Cuervo’s official policy.

Road Closures & Transportation Issues

Road conditions, construction, government road closures, or local events can occasionally affect travel routes between Guadalajara and the Tequila region.

  • TQM Tours is not responsible for road closures or transportation disruptions outside of our control.
  • If a road closure affects the itinerary, we will adjust the route or schedule when possible.
  • Road closures do not qualify for refunds, but we will advocate on behalf of our guests with partners whenever possible.

Travel Advisories & Media Reports

Occasionally international news or travel advisories may create concern about visiting certain parts of Mexico. While we understand travelers may feel uncertain, cancellations based solely on media reports or general travel advisories do not qualify for automatic refunds.

Our tequila tours operate in well-established tourism areas between Guadalajara and the town of Tequila where tourism activities take place daily. Guests who prefer not to travel due to news coverage may request to reschedule their tour whenever possible.

Regional Events & Safety Situations

In rare situations, local events such as demonstrations, security activity, road closures, or regional incidents may impact travel routes in Jalisco.

If this occurs, TQM Tours will always prioritize the safety of our guests and work to adjust the itinerary or reschedule the experience when possible.

Because these situations involve external authorities or partners, they do not automatically qualify for refunds. However, we will advocate with partners to help secure credits or alternative options when available.

Late Arrivals & Missed Tours

  • Guests who miss their scheduled pickup time may not be able to join the tour once transportation has departed.
  • Missed tours are considered a last-minute cancellation and are non-refundable.
  • If possible, we may assist guests in meeting the group later along the route, but this cannot always be guaranteed.

Weather Policy

Tequila tours operate rain or shine. Distillery visits and tequila tastings take place indoors, so weather rarely affects the experience.

If severe weather prevents safe travel, we will work with guests to reschedule the tour whenever possible.
