Enjoy private round-trip transportation from Guadalajara or Zapopan and a
bilingual guide who knows the distillery inside and out. After your tasting, you’ll have the
option to dine at La Taverna del Cofrade—a stunning restaurant carved into
volcanic stone beneath the distillery—before free time in the Pueblo Mágico of Tequila.

What You’ll Experience at La Cofradía

Your day begins with a scenic ride from Guadalajara into Jalisco’s agave region. Upon
arriving at La Cofradía, you’ll walk through rows of vibrant blue agave while learning
about cultivation, harvesting techniques, and the environmental practices that define the
region’s tequila production.

Next, enjoy a distillery walkthrough—from fermentation and stainless-steel
tanks to aging rooms filled with American and French oak barrels. Your bilingual guide
will explain each step of the process before you sit down for a premium tasting of
Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo expressions crafted onsite.

After your tasting, the distillery is home to one of Tequila’s most extraordinary dining
spaces: La Taverna del Cofrade, an underground restaurant carved into
volcanic stone. Food is not included in the tour price, but your guide will coordinate
a visit if you’d like to dine there—no separate reservation needed on your end.
The nearby Matices Barrel Hotel is another excellent option for drinks
or a bite in a one-of-a-kind setting among agave barrels.

The day ends with free time in Tequila, Jalisco—perfect for photos,
artisan shops, and enjoying the charm of the Pueblo Mágico before your private return trip.

    Our group of 12 traveled from New York to Guadalajara for a medical convention, and we decided to book the La Cofradía Tequila Experience with TQM as a team activity. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip.

    We stayed at the Matices Hotel de Barricas, and the barrel-shaped rooms were a unique and memorable touch — comfortable, well designed, and right in the middle of the agave fields. A fun surprise was the ducks that wander freely around the property, which added a charming, relaxed atmosphere that our entire group enjoyed.

    The distillery tour and tequila tastings were professional, well organized, and educational without ever feeling too formal. Lunch onsite was handled seamlessly for our group size, and gave everyone the chance to relax, recharge, and continue conversations outside of the convention setting.

    TQM coordinated everything perfectly, from timing to transportation, and made sure we had the flexibility we needed. For groups traveling to Guadalajara — especially those coming in for conferences or conventions — this experience is an excellent way to balance work with a truly memorable cultural activity.
